Founded in 1946, the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) exists to help string and orchestra teachers and players. Their members range from budding student teachers to artist-status performers. Each year ASTA awards ONE teacher from across the United States of America the Elizabeth A. Green Award for having a distinguished career in a school orchestral setting. Dr. Green is world-renowned for her contributions to music education as a musician, teacher, conductor, and author.

This year ASTA has selected our very own, JAMES PALMER, to receive this award!

Fellow Bucs, please join the entire Fine Arts Department in congratulating Mr. Palmer for this incredible honor! We all know first-hand how awesome “JPalm” is, but it is pretty awesome to be recognized nationally!
